How to take care of yourself
The modern world has become a very stressful place both physically and psychologically. Every day we are bombarded by countless stressors that only magnify our continuous discomfort. If we also add a seated employment, irregular and unbalanced meals, the constant onslaught of blue light and even worsening air pollution our bodies absorb more than we can handle.
Society tends to prioritize results and work over our own well-being and as such we tend to neglect self-care. Enduring as long as possible, pushing back our needs endlessly. We try to be there for others and especially our loved ones; always placing our welfare second. Even though we cannot take care of others, we cannot perform our best at our jobs, we cannot even feel properly happy if we do not take care of ourselves first.
All of us tend to try to forget about living a healthy lifestyle while also repressing the outcomes. Even when we do decide to take care of our ailments, it is usually too late. We fail to remember the importance of prevention and we do the bare minimum to take care of ourselves while we speed through our daily lives. This is made all too easy by our modern world. The symptoms of society reflect differently on all of us; we are constantly tired; we get sick often and take longer to get better. Vitamin deficiencies ruin your skin, nails and hair. Stress and hormonal imbalances further belabor the symptoms of menopause. While stress, in itself, is the cause and effect of sleep deprivation, vitality, mood swings and so much more.
Yet all these oppressive negatives are, more often than not, curable conditions. Sometimes all that is needed is a small change in your everyday life. A small change that will bloom into an ever-improving solution. You do not have to fundamentally change your lifestyle or turn your thinking completely on its head. The path to cardinal betterment starts with small and easy actions that take little to no time and energy and yet, their effects on your physical and mental wellbeing are exceptional.
